Hot Fun in the Summertime!

We started out our week at Dollywood and Splash Country with cousin Emmie. These three always have the best time together. You can bet that a giggle-fest occurs many times throughout the day!
It was much too hot to stay at Dollywood for long, so Emmie and JJ rode the new Barnstormer ride while Tori and I sought refuge in the play area nearby with spray fans. Tori was very happy to meet up with Strawberry Shortcake, too. A big "Thank you" to Mamaw Sandy and Paw Estel for the season passes they buy for both families every year.
Just had to share...JJ can be a #1 big brother when he wants to be!
Ahhh...Cool relief from the heat was found at Splash Country! Although we had a small storm while we were there, it brought even more relief from the oppressive heat and humidity.Emmie is such a help with Tori.
Lovin' it!

Wednesday was the last library event and awards day. "Quackers" from Cumberland County Library came to entertain. The girls loved it...the boys, not so much.
Award-winning summer readers!

It took us all summer to get there, but we finally went to the Roane County Park splash pad with the Jones and Harvey clans on Thursday. Of course, they had a ball!

Today was more fun at Roane County park at the Harriman Utility Board annual family picnic. (Chris joined the board this year.) JJ and Tori loved the water slides they rented for the kids. Then, later in the afternoon, Mamaw Teina hosted a back-to-school pool party for cousins and friends. Another great time...and Mamaw even had a treat bag for each of them with some school supplies! Thanks Mamaw Teina (and Big Paw, too!)

It was a great week indeed! The kids and I packed in fun with some home-time, too. Next week is JJ's last full week of summer break, and I start back on Thursday. Hopefully, I can give you a update on our kitchen redo and my craft/scrap booking space on our upstairs landing. I have also been working on the decor in the kid's beach bathroom. Have a great Sunday!

I had forgotten all about your construction projects with all your summer-time fun. I can't wait to see the progress. You've certainly had a full summer. Is it really time for you to start thinking about school already? Beautiful pictures, Cindy.

PS. I took the girls to Kung Fu Panda 2 this afternoon. We're so behind on summer movies. Did you go? Emma and I were full of tears in many of the adoption/abandonment scenes.

What a fun summer you have had...lots of wonderful memories. I love the pictures of the kids having such a good time.

...yes, you should name your house especially since it is so old and charming.(-:

Both of the kids seemed to have grown up a lot this summer. It's crazy.
