"Happy Rain!"

This weekend was the Women's Expo, and so this is an annual Mother/Daughter outing for the three of us.
Tori found a friend while we were there...a shy little hedgehog from the Knoxville Zoo.

Introducing our complete clover pixies in time for St. Patrick's Day...Thank you Elizabeth from Bluebird Papercrafts! She has a tutorial on her site here to help you make your own. I wish I had her talents and her wit and wisdom!

As the torrential rain fell, we were eating supper Saturday evening, and Chris and I were discussing just how much rain we have endured in the past week. Tori chimed in and proclaimed it "Happy Rain!" Oh, to see with the eyes of a child...much more optimistic than mine! So, to remind me to see things "half-full," I thought that it would make a great title for this post.

Anyway, the Whaleys have made it through one week of March and now we are starting on another. In less than two weeks now, we will be on our Spring Break...that just sounds so wonderful!

I haven't mentioned about our newest project...our foyer mantle. The Paws are covering it in ceramic tile, so I will share the progress on that project later. The kitchen and garage are still in the discussion and planning stages...more to come soon.

Touches of Spring are beginning to appear in ET...the willows are trickling green, the daffodils are budding, and the forsythia are showing their yellow rays. I just love seeing nature awaken after her long winter sleep!

Enjoy your pre-Spring days ahead!
Cindy

I'll take rain over snow. I'm looking forward to seeing anything green while I'm in your precious state. My bags are packed and Josie has been a beast this evening. She finally admitted she was mad at me for going on a trip without her. I'm sure she'll be fine, but I'm wishing my trip included all my kiddos and a chance to connect with your family.

PS. Your vintage tray and earring magnets finally got mailed on Saturday. It should be there shortly.

Can't wait to see more of your special projects.

Ever since reading Beatrix Potter,I've been wanting a hedgehog for a pet. Alas, they are outlawed in California!

The Shamrock pixie is so very cute! Perhaps more pixies will arrive after all your rain!

Cindy, I can't begin to tell you how much you have brought a smile to my day! Your daughter is as precious as can be, her Pixie in Angora too cute for words. What a thrill for me! You are an English teacher. My most favorite kind of people. If I could be anything at all in my life, it would be an English teacher. Elizabeth
