Football and "Yo Gabby"

Our football hero...We celebrated the end of the season game Saturday with freezing temps and piercing cold wind, but J.J. played like a pro!

Wednesday night... Tori, Paw Lowell and Mom went to see "Yo Gabba, Gabba. . .There's a Party in My City" at the Tennessee Theater. T has always called this show "Yo Gabby," from the time she started to talk, so that's what we call it, too!

Yep, I started decorating for Christmas yesterday!

Well, we have gone from summer to winter here in East Tennessee! Usually we at least have some days in between for our bodies to get adjusted to the cold, but not this year! Sunday morning we woke up to 28 degrees. . .too cold for my taste.

Maybe its the weather or just the fact that I am feeling more like myself after last month's bout with not feeling so great, I am really in the mood for all the holiday fanfare! If you can believe it, I went shopping early Saturday morning to get a start on my Christmas shopping. Wow! I really did get some great bargains, and I was home by 8:30 a.m. (I arrived at Belk at 6:00 a.m. to get the extra savings, and it really was worth it.)

Also, I have been really anxious to get my staircase decorated with all my after-Christmas bargains I have collected over the past two years and with some great finds at Hobby Lobby this weekend. Finally the almost finished foyer received some pre-Christmas and Thanksgiving adornment!

I loved being at home this weekend (despite a few outings) just doing a bit of cleaning, organizing and decorating. The kids really enjoyed being cozy at home playing with forgotten toys, board games, and the time-honored "fort" made out of quilts. The kids (those with and without fur) simply had some quality time together!

Well, as I am here at school and supposed to be working on some things for my Junior English classes, I had better end for now. I have a couple of posts planned for this week, so check back soon!

Happy Monday!

Bring on the decorations! I can't wait to see more. You are so smart getting a jump start on holiday shopping. I'll look forward to your upcoming posts. Congratulations on getting through football season and Josie would have LOVED Yo Gaba Gaba.

'There's a party in my city'...that's awesome. One of these days, we'll find a kid's show here in town that doesn't cost us a fortune to attend. Looks like a good time.
Yeah, bring on the decorations. Looking forward to those pics. You always do up the house nicely.
