Memorial Day 2010

The greatest glory of a free-born people is to transmit that freedom to their children.

-William Havard

Because of the fourth grade social studies curriculum and with Chris's interest in history, Jonathan enjoys learning about the people and places who made up our nation. So, this evening on our bike ride around the island, we stopped at a memorial for Revolutionary soldiers due to a small battle that was held here. Later, a community church was built. Now only a historic cemetery remains. I am so glad I had the opportunity to share this with both J and T, especially on the day we should stop and thank all the men and women who have given their lives so that we can live ours as free Americans.

Now to this morning. . .Well, Tee-Tee's hunt was another huge success. As you can see below, the skull and crossbones in the sand marked today's starting point. Lollipops, juice packs, bubbles, and plastic sea creatures made up today's treasure.

Diggin for it !
Tee-Tee blowing bubbles with his girls . . .
T and J just spent the morning on the shore building a "pool" and making castles with their plastic molds. Boy did they have to have a good showering off when we came back to the condo!
Tomorrow is another day at the beach with family. Mamaw and Paw are hosting the grand kids only (No parents allowed!) for a pancake breakfast. So the parents are going out for breakfast to enjoy a peaceful, adult meal. Wow! Am I looking forward to that!

Signing off from paradise,
Cindy
