Craft Time!

I swore to myself that this would be a glitter less craft session, but I couldn't resist just adding a bit.
Thanks Kim K. for getting me addicted to these peat pot creations!
One thing I adore about this particular project is that you can just use things you have on hand, although I did buy the cool owl feathers at Wal-Mart.
I just think these banners are so attractive and festive! I am so glad that I had the opportunity to put one together today.
Some of my "toys" put all together...

My tribute to the Oz gang...
These little plastic figurines were a find this past summer. I paid a whole quarter for them at a yard sale!
These were a Christmas present when I was about seven or eight. Some of the shoes are missing, but they are in good shape.

Finally I decided to put everything else aside and just craft this morning (besides throwing some laundry in). My mom tells me that she is the happiest just when she has a little time for herself to do what she wants. I know that I get refueled when I can just have time to putt around the house, and do little projects here and there. With Tori at preschool this morning and JJ having his own time, I found one of my happy places.

I enjoy the fall and all the pretty colors and fun it brings. I am not at all a fan of the dark and macabre of Halloween, but I love the vintage and playful side of it. It is a time that I can bring out my toys (old and new) and just enjoy putting things all together. Even thought it is not the prettiest, my tribute to The Wizard of Oz and Wicked is my favorite. I have always loved the story of Dorothy, Toto, the Wicked Witch, and the whole crew, and I can't believe that my loved toys from a Christmas long ago has made it to my adulthood. Thanks mom for saving them for me!

Check back later as I should have our mini-fall retreat to the mountains up and ready to view!

Happy Fall Friday!
